10.or D launched: Key specs, features, India price, and everything you need to know

Amazon India on Wednesday added another budget smartphone to its portfolio under the 10.or brand (pronounced Tenor) with the 10.or D. This is the third phone launched this year following the 10.or G and 10.or E smartphones. The newest budget handset comes with entry-level specifications as the company looks to take on the likes of the recently launched Redmi 5A.

The 10.or D shares most of the same specs seen inside the Redmi 5A including a Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB and 3GB of RAM options, 13-megapixels rear and 5-megapixels front cameras, among other things. However, given its relative newness in the Indian market, the 10.or D will face a stiff competition with the Redmi 5A. Here's everything that you need to know about Amazon India's latest budget offering.  

Specifications:

(1) Processor: The 10.or D is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor Snapdragon 425 processor (Cortex A53) with Adreno 308 GPU

(2) RAM: It will be available in a choice of 2GB and 3GB of RAM, like the Redmi 5A

(3) Internal storage: It will be offered with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage depending on the         RAM variant

(4) Screen: The 10.or D sports a 5.2-inch HD (720x1280) display with bezels all around

(5) Rear camera: The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear sensor with flash

(6) Front camera: It features a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor without flash

(7) Software: The budget handset runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box and comes with a few pre-loaded Amazon apps like Kindle and Prime Video

(8) Battery: The smartphone houses a 3500mAh battery which promises up to two days of battery life and up to 10 days of standby time

Special features

Amazon India says that its 10.or smartphones have been designed looking at customer feedback on its e-commerce platform. The specifications offered are largely based on what customers have requested. This includes a large battery, fingerprint sensor, stock Android among other things.

One of the biggest highlights of the 10.or D is its big battery capacity of 3500mAh. This is larger compared to the Redmi 5A which houses a 3000mAh battery and Amazon says that its smartphone will provide up to 2 days of battery life. The low-end specifications will likely help boost the battery life as well.

 The other big highlight is the fingerprint sensor on the back, which the company says will unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds (when turned on) and 0.8 seconds when turned off. The 10.or D is also one of the cheapest phones to sport a fingerprint scanner.

The company says that the Snapdragon 425 processor is optimised and battery efficient, which guarantees that the handset will keep the phone running for up to two days.

Price and availability

The 10.or D is priced starting at Rs 4,999 for the 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage variant and Rs 3,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This is similar to the Redmi 5A and will look to challenge Xiaomi's budget smartphone in the online space. The 10.or D is exclusive to Amazon India and will go on sale starting January 5. Amazon will also be offering an additional 1 year warranty for Prime customers who purchase the device.
