HMD Global is planning to announce two new Nokia smartphones early next year. One will be a high-end device, which is most likely going to be Nokia 9, while the other one will be a budget phone, aka an updated variant of the Nokia 6. A new report now suggests that HMD Global is planning to launch both Nokia 9 and Nokia 6 (2018) in January itself.

Both the smartphones have already cleared TENNA. Now a new report suggests that Nokia 9, alongside the updated version of the Nokia 6, aka Nokia 6 (2018) have also received the 3C certification.

A previously leaked report revealed that HMD Global will be hosting an event on January 19, next year -- and Nokia 9 may be the star of the show. Considering the rising buzz about the Nokia 6 (2018) -- some media reports now suggests that the Finnish-company may also launch the new Nokia 6 alongside the high-end Nokia 9. However, it is noteworthy that HMD Global hasn't confirmed the launch date of either of the phones as of yet.

Overall, the new Nokia 6 is expected to be a much-improved version of the original device, be it camera, hardware, software or even display. Nokia 6 (2018) cleared TENNA just a day ago, which indicated that the smartphone will follow the on-going thin bezels trend, and come with 18:9 screen. It is further expected to come with dual SIM support.

Another USP of the phone -- Nokia 6 (2018) will be its camera. The smartphone is tipped to come with a dual-camera setup at the back, yet again, unlike the original Nokia 6 which comes with a 16-megapixel back camera. Going by the design of the phone, the Nokia 6 (2018) will most likely be reminiscent of the recently announced Nokia 7. It is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and tipped to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630 processor, which may be coupled with 4GB of RAM and an internal storage of 32GB.

Another change that the updated Nokia 6 will see is in its fingerprint sensor placement. In the Nokia 6 (2018) the fingerprint sensor may move to the back of the device. Additionally, the images that were leaked earlier this week suggested that the phone may come with software-rendered Android navigation buttons and also retain back the Bothie feature. Rumours say that the new Nokia 6 may ditch the hardware touch buttons which was seen on the original Nokia 6, instead may come with on-screen keys.

Meanwhile, Nokia 9 is going to be a high-end phone, and will more or less have a lot in similar to that of the Nokia 8. Ahead of the launch, Nokia 9 has been subjected to several leaks and rumours giving us a rough sketch of the specification and design of the smartphone. It seems, Nokia 9 may come with a similar design and camera as the Nokia 8.
